Developing Provincial Technical and Vocational Education and Training Profiles

The TVET Sector Strategic Plan (TSSP) 2023-2032 mandates that all seven provinces in Nepal develop a provincial-level strategic plan, supported by the QualiTY project to document the TVET sector’s context, focusing on occupational demands and available information from providers. Following the implementation of the federal TVET Sector Strategic Plan (TSSP), it is essential for provincial governments to develop their TVET strategies in harmony with the federal plan. To support this effort, the provincial TVET profile serves as a critical evidence-based resource.

Firstly, the compiled data will provide a detailed picture of the economy and demographics at the sub-national level, encompassing both the supply and demand aspects. This analysis is fundamental for understanding the current situation, identifying challenges, addressing issues, and exploring opportunities in the TVET sector. Secondly, the collected information will act as a foundational database, enabling provincial governments to create or enhance their TVET information systems. Additionally, it will facilitate stronger collaboration between provincial, federal, and local governments. Lastly, the TVET profile will aid provinces in formulating targeted interventions by analyzing indicator-based data and leveraging the identified opportunities to overcome challenges.
