Endline Study of the Project “Literacy Boost” in Baglung District

Project Details:

Individual assessment with of language skill and mathematics skill of grade 2 and grade 3 using Literacy Boost assessment tool along with their socio-economic background of the family and assessment of the print rich environment of the Literacy Boost classrooms. Out of the 12 UNICEF working districts, Bajhang, Bajura, Baitadi and Doti from the far western development region was selected for the study. VDC/Municipalities for the assessment in each of the districts were selected based on the highest number of OOSC reported in the census data. Major stakeholders such as the schoolteachers, students, parents, and SMC members were interviewed using appropriate tools and procedures. Individual assessment was done with 384 students along with FGD and KII with 5 dozen parents SMC, teachers.
